Bus routes:

-Bus Routes: Families can plug in their home address to see their children's bus stops, bus numbers and pickup times.

-Special Routes: Students in gifted & talented programs may get transportation from designated pickup points located throughout the district.

-Alternative Snow Routes: in the event some roads are impassable. Please keep in mind that these routes are alternate pick-up and drop-off locations. In some instances, the bus stop location will be the same as the one your child currently uses. In other cases, the stop location might be different. chools will operate on a normal start and dismissal schedule unless otherwise announced.

Calendar Change!

Effective Immediately!

 As of January 12, 2010, students in the Fayette County Public Schools have to make up two days missed due to winter weather. (Snow days were January 7 and 8, 2010.)

 Please take note: February 12 and March 5 WILL now be school days.  The original calendar called for students to be off on those days, but designated them as “possible weather make-up days.”

 Students and staff will be in school on February 12 and March 5.

Please adjust your school calendar accordingly.

They solved 3,200 Math Problems in less than 6 hours!!

Math Team In Action

Mrs. Stevenson Fulfilled Her Promise to the Math Team for completing the challenge.

On Saturday, October 24, sixteen Winburn Mathletes participated in a 6-hour Math-A-Thon at Winburn Middle School!! Principal Tina Stevenson had challenged the Math Team with a goal of 3000 problems worked correctly and they succeeded!! (They actually surpassed the goal by more than 200!) Students worked individually, in pairs, and on teams learning new techniques and perfecting old skills. Students helped teach each other on worksheets and challenged each other on 1-on-1 matches winning candy treats. Parent volunteers helped make the day successful bringing food for snacks and lunch as well as helping grade problems from the Math-A-Thon.

Homework Expectations:
Students will have homework throughout the school year. The expectation is that homework will be completed at home and returned the next day during class.  Parents can keep up with the student's homework through the agenda and the homework hotline (381-3972).
